Transponders Go for 2000

At the request of the ABkC the S1 main series will be lap-scored by transponder timing.  (This will NOT apply to the qualifier rounds).   Drivers who have purchased AMB TranX160 transponders for use at their clubs (e.g. Shenington, Dunkeswell etc) will be able to use them in the Super One.  Others will have to purchase this type of transponder before the first meeting, and have it ready fitted and fully charged.  (See Gold Book Page 74).  Note that the S1 organisers will NOT be selling transponder kits.  They can be obtained from HS Sports, Shenington and Dunkeswell clubs etc, RRP is £140 which includes a mains and a car charger.  It is the intention of the ABkC that all member clubs adopt transponder lap-scoring by 1.1.2001.  The S1 organisers feel that adopting transponders can only increase the professionalism of the series.
