S1 Qualifier at Lydd 2.4.00

Super One Qualifier Round: Lydd 2.4.00

At the last of the Elf Hill House Hammond Super 1 qualifier rounds, Iain Inglis and Jonathan Adam topped the results. In Intercontinental A, Adam Ellis led early on but Inglis was leapfrogging through from grid six to take the lead by lap seven. He stretched away leaving a huge fight for second, resolved on the last corner in Martin Pierce’s favour. Ellis dropped to fifth, with Jason Gardner taking advantage of the confusion for third ahead of Paul Railston. In Formula TKM, Jonathan Adam tracked Thomas Onslow-Cole until he made a decisive move at the last corner for the win. Danny Cruttenden took third after Jonathan Robertson seized. The latter had started from grid nine after being put to the back of one of the heats, and despite a poor start made meteoric progress on his Venom until the engine cried enough. Ashley Whitcroft, Sam Hitch and Christopher Coombes rounded out the top six.
