Entries for the March meeting will appear here:
ABkC TKM 'O' PLATE MEETING 17/18 APRIL: The
entry & fuel order forms will soon be available on the
Forms page. The entry for Saturday & Sunday, to
include the control set of slick race tyres, is £200
(£220 for Senior 4-stroke.) First prize in each
class is a Spellfame voucher, total prize fund currently
stands at £2500 (depending on number of classes being
run). Other vouchers and prizes from Tal-Ko, JKH,
Paul Carr Racing, Spellfame and the club. Put it
in your diary now.
February meeting: A number of competitors
pulled out of the meeting, some after signing on and
scrutineering. The club unfortunately is not in a
position to refund or roll-over entries for those that
voluntarily withdrew. The meeting went ahead as
normal after a one hour delay due to snow clearing,
everyone was on slicks by 1.30 pm and all finals were
held. The club regrets any inconvenience but is
committed to the financial outgoings expected for the
meeting including the MSA insurance charges for entered
competitors.
Shenington KRC regrets that the weekend meeting on
9/10 January was postponed due to a
large amount of frozen snow. We apologise to all our customers. KF Winter Series - the organisers are planning
to apply for MSA permission to hold the postponed
third round at a track and date to be notified in due
course. It is unlikely to be at Shenington due
to clashes with other events. See further down this
page for the latest points after the February PFI
round. Shenington Winter Series - All rounds held will
count and the committee propose to extend the
Winter Series to the April meeting, for which MSA
approval has been granted to invoke the championship regulation 1.6.
A championship bulletin has been issued. Shenington Club Championship - After
consultation with members at the February round, it
has been decided that the postponed January meeting
will now be held on 30/31
October, for which MSA approval has been given.
There will also be a Thursday test day on 28th
October, during the school holiday week. A
championship bulletin has been issued.
2010 RACE CALENDAR:
Please note the meeting
to replace the postponed January race is on 30/31 October.
Live Timing is here: When active you should be
able to see the current race results updated every 40
seconds from our TAG Super Sports Timing System.
Happy Christmas and best wishes for an excellent
season in 2010: The
Winter Newsletter and all entry and membership forms
have now been posted to all members. If you don't
receive them for any reason they can all be downloaded
from this website. You will notice that members
practice fees and entry fees have had to be increased
for the first time in four years, and even between 2005
and 2006 there was only a £2 hike in the entry fee.
This regrettable increase became inevitable what with
the return to 17.5% VAT for 2010 and other supplier cost
increases (to some extent the 15% saved us in 2009) and
remember that all profits are ploughed back into the
circuit. For instance we have to save up funds for
track re-surfacing and so on. We think our fees
still offer great value for money, especially the Winter
100 and the Super Prix entries. So we hope having
to fork out an extra £10 per weekend is not too much of
a burden, and thank everyone for their support in 2009,
and wish you all a great sporting 2010.
Awards Evening 2009:
The 2009 Awards and dinner was held at the Manor House Hotel in Moreton-in-Marsh
on Saturday 30th January 2010 with a Venetian masked
ball theme for the evening, along with a string quartet
and free champagne on arrival. A magician
entertained the guests and later the casino opened, with
all proceeds donated to the Oxfordshire Air Ambulance,
with £305 raised. For what is thought to be the
first time ever, the secret vote for the Driver of the
Year resulted in a tie between Junior TKM rivals Oliver
Hodgson and Ashley Jones, who will share the trophy.
The MSA's Chief Executive Colin Hilton kindly handed out
the trophies, and he was accompanied by his wife Barbara
who received a bouquet from club chairman Mike Coombs,
see picture to left. The Lady Driver of the Year award
went to Jade Sheppard, and the Junior Clubman (someone
who puts effort back into the club) was awarded to
Travis Kirk. The Most Promising awards went to Lee
Harrison (Junior TKM), Matthew George (Junior Max), Guy
Perry (MiniMax), Matthew Harris (TKM Exreme), Louis Wall
(Gearbox), Alfie Brown (Cadet) and James Peace (Junior).

LATE ARRIVALS: Please do not come to the
circuit on the day / evening before a practice day or
championship, except up to 11 pm on Friday's before the
club meetings. Our landlord and the Gliding Club
are getting fed up with vehicles trying to get in or
parking in the area late at night.
PIT-SPACES:
Could visitors to the club please respect the pit spaces
that are booked for the year by the club members. If in
doubt, look at the notice boards in the paddock to see
which are occupied. The owner of the pit-space
always has precedence up to 0915 on Sunday morning.
Please note that if a pit bay holder is not using the
pit bay for a race weekend, if they inform Track Manager
Peter Cox the club will attempt to sell the space for
£20 for the weekend and if sold, give a £10 discount
voucher to be used against a test day in the future.
Vacant pit spaces can be pre-booked for a weekend at £20
by contacting Peter Cox on 07770 866006 or 01295 257674
(evening) and at reasonable times.
CCTV is in operation: The club has
invested in a CCTV system to aid the Clerk of the Course
in judicial decisions on driving incidents. There
are a total of nine cameras (two in the paddock, up to
seven on the track) in operation.
Shenington Kart Circuit also hosts the annual
Shenington24 - a round of the British Pedal Car
Championship, being held this year on 26/27 June.

able to see the unofficial race results 'over the line'
from our Super Sports Timing System possibly before
penalties are added, with unofficial timing.
KARTMANIA
Show on 28/29 November 2009 at Ricoh Arena Coventry: Shenington
KRC had a stand at the show, at the Ricoh Arena.
it was very successful and several new club members were
recruited.
Special Offer for 2010:
Take your ARKS test with one of our Club Examiners
(Chris Smith tel 07703 202922) and join the club and you
will receive ONE FREE RACE ENTRY in 2010.
Lets Go Karting: Shenington has been selected for one of
the club places on the MSA
sponsored scheme to give
youngsters a chance to try a race kart for the sum of
only £5. We were the first club in the country to
start the sessions, with our inaugural session on
Tuesday 17 June 2008. The current sessions are
shown below, generally a day in school holiday weeks and
one Tuesday evening per month in the summer months.
If anyone would like to come along and help the
committee volunteers please make contact with the
secretary. We have invested in two brand new Cadet
karts fitted with Honda GX120 engines, a Comer S60, a
full race prepared Project One Honda Cadet, another
Honda Cadet, a CRG Bambino 'Puffo' kart (generously on
loan from HRS Motortsport) and
two MicroMax (generously gifted
by JAG) on junior chassis for the older kids. All racewear will be provided.
Please phone the secretary on 01926 812177 if you want
to book in a driver for the next available trial (see
below for dates). Also for those who have already been on
the Lets Go Karting day, we are offering a longer test,
three sessions for £30, in the holidays, during the day, in the afternoon. Please phone 01295 257674
to book, but remember you must have been on an LGK day
with us first. We are planning to
run the full circuit on Thursday 18th February, and then
again on Thursday 15th April at a cost
of £80 for those that wish to progress, they will have
to have done at least two of the previous junior
practice days first. The intention is to
take youngsters from the initial taster session all the
way up to their ARKS Test, which can be taken at the
club.
Lets Go Karting taster sessions at Shenington
(Phone 01926 812177 to book):
Morning of Tuesday 13th April - book with Graham on
01926 812177 (afternoon for longer sessions is now fully booked)
Morning of Tuesday 1st June - book with Graham on
01926 812177 ( the afternoon for longer sessions for

WiFi Broadband Internet Access: As part of the
continuing service to our customers / club members /
drivers we have now made available WiFi access in the
paddock. It covers almost all of the B and C pits,
and the some of the new field, but unfortunately isn't
very strong in the A Pits. We also have live timing available and
the webcam(s). Please do not abuse the facility with
over-use (eg gaming) or we may have to put on password
protection. Just treat the free internet access
with respect, thank-you.
Fire Extinguishers: Could all competitors
please ensure they have a working fire extinguisher at
the race meetings in accordance with regulations,
minimum size 55B but better to be 70B minimum.
Also please acquaint yourselves with the nearest
firepoint in the paddock where large fire extinguishers
may be found.
If you have an awning, it is now recommended to have a
minimum of a 2kg foam or powder, or two if more than one
competitor. Commercial teams should have a minimum
of 2 x 6kg and the fire extinguishers should be kept at
the entrance(s) to the awnings.

www.youtube.com
Please put your entries in ON
TIME! At a recent meeting there were 176 sent on time and
64 AFTER the closing date. Remember we are allowed
to charge £10 for late entries.
Note to all commercial teams: Please remember that
after 1st July all commercial awnings and team vehicles
MUST display appropriate No Smoking signs as required by
law. Checks will be made
ROTAX MAX DD2: The club welcome DD2 at our
test days but please note all DD2 karts must practice in
the gearbox sessions. Our insurance does not
permit us to mix gearbox and direct-drive and because
the MSA recognise DD2 as a gearbox category, they must
therefore set their gearing for the long circuit and
practise accordingly with 125 ICC etc. IF there is
sufficient demand we can consider a race as they are
already referenced in our SRs.
Please note—reluctantly we can no longer
accept used tyres. Too many people from all over were
using our facility, not just club members. So it is
exclusion for anyone dumping tyres at Sheni from now on.
We use the SuperSports ERS Tempus
timing system so all meetings will sport the ERS+ results on
www.karting.co.uk . This should be of great benefit to the
club members and guests, being able to bring up various
statistics on
www.karting.co.uk website. Yet another update
and improvement from your favourite club. Remember all
profits are put back into the club facilities.
Please note the MSA Gold and Blue Book are available on
the www.msauk.org
website for download in pdf format. If you do not
have a licence and password, it is now possible to get a
public access password.
