I do Long Circuit. I know its different because its proper racing tarmac, better condition and all that rubbish. But I've bought one set of new tyres all year (GP at Cadwell).

I have a set on for practice at Knockhill a week on Saturday that have done:

Kimbolton Clubbie (Feb 07);
Cadwell (Apr 07);
Mallory (May 07);
Oulton (June 07, set Lap Record);
Cadwell (July 07);
Kimbolton (Nov 07);
Rye House Practice (Mar 08);
Mallory (Apr 08);
Anglesey Practice (May 08).

I ran these tyres at Mallory in september as well, and guess what. won both races in class. Raced against a bloke with new tyres and beat him.

My point? I was told you needed new tyres every meeting at long circuit!

So long as you don't race a class with s.soft tyres, there is no need to buy more than a set every two/three meetings at the most!
