If the rule states that any tyre from the current list i.e.

Dunlop XYZ
Bridgestone ABC
VEGA 123
Maxxis 789

As some libre classes do, where would be the problem. It would then be the resposiblity of the scruts to ensure you're not running something special or bespoke.
And it solves the long/short circuit debate surely???
