i have saw rotax engines being sold for Ł500 - Ł1500+
just depends on the history of the engine.
if your just starting you would be looking at the cheaper engines as your not likely to be challenging at the front.
rotax are touch and go + they are direct drive.

at this time of year you will find alot of rotax outfits for sale as people are buying karts for the new season , changing class , retiring from racing etc etc.

so check the market place regularely you may ifnd a bargain.
