The rule that states the Snell K98 helmet is legal only for International and MSA National events has been in the book for years, and also applies to the Snell K2005 standard. Its not an error. Why should it be ok to use a BS6658-85typeA helmet at MSA but not International events? Its got nothing to do with how safe a helmet is, and I suspect, more to do with what approvals the helmet manufacturers were willing to pay for.
