or perhaps the protector had been worn down so much that it was not doing anything!

I have had one fitted on my kart since October. The first meeting I used it was at Rowrah, when the kerb at the top hairpin was filled in, so you could pretty much get the whole kart across it. That took a good few millimetres off it!

I have just fitted a new one, even though the existing one wasn't worn enough to really need replacing but it will make a good spare :)
