Well, I'd rather not be the statistic that proves the case.

This was one of my lighter crashes, I shouldn't have tried pedalling all the way down the hill - slipped a pedal and I was a passenger.

I hadn't bought my Leatt for this crash, but it helped me decide. I've had way bigger crashes since ! Full face helmets, spine, elbow and knee pads are now mandatory for U18 downhill and 4X in the UK, and becoming a standard for all Worldwide. Neck braces are relatively new so no requirement yet.
