Hook-ups are a great idea but you have to understand the cost of both installation and maintainance of the system plus the fact that the supply to many kart venues would not be adequate to cope with the load demanded at a busy meetings end of play early on Friday or Saturday evening when everyone wants a cup of tea.

Even at £20 for a weekend a club may well not recoup the outlay for a number of seasons, with many clubs under pressure already it would be a shame to lose some clubs that simply are unable to fund the work.

Given that some sites may well require a mains supply upgrade to a minimum 50KVA supply a new transformer will cost the club in the order of £40k to upgrade which would make even the richest and busiest club blink! Some circuits only have genny power themselves (ours included) so a genny able to cope with the demand is going to cost around £10K minimum plus the cost of the hook-ups. In an ideal world hook-ups are great but don't hold your breath!
