Jamie, I thought I gave a pretty comprehensive answer to your question further down when I dated your kit. Did you see it ? Dave and Ian are also of the oldskool and pretty much agree with my prognosis.

Unless you're passionate about the kart I would strongly advise that you DO NOT restore it. You will spend a significant amount of money on it which will add around GBP200-GBP250 to the value. Unless you restore it fully, it would be classed as 'for restoration' irrespective of what you do to it and the value will remain the same.
