OK, so (pure) Aluminium has a higher thermal conductivity than Magnesium. You also need to look at the relative heat capacities of the materials, the structure of the wheel, the surface area, how flexible the wheel is etc. etc.

I will leave all that to someone more qualified than I, but all we need to know is the relative performance characteristics on the kart. Mags will generally reduce grip relative to Aluminium.
