For close racing go for a Prokart . Karts weigh around 90kg . Bilands are excellent bits of kit , quoted long rebuild times . If a cambelt goes lots of internal damage and expensive , any accident damage to radiator , ancilliaries etc is also expensive . Spares on the day can be an issue as Kart shops at circuits tend to only hold Rotax parts and some Honda parts too but few stock Biland bits . A spare "prepped" engine for a prokart is around £400 + vat , cheaper if you do much of the work yourself , a spare Biland is £1800 + vat . It really boils down to how much money you have to spend and how fast you want to go to be happy . Best of luck with whichever option you choose .
