Unless, of course, being bounced around in the seat means that WHEN you land upside down, you are now PINNED to the track by the HUGE 'spike' of the back of the seat.....

The argument that NOT being strapped in means you will be thrown clear does NOT hold water!

I have been upside down more times than I can COUNT (it must be over 10 times). On ONE occasion, my HELMET was pinned to the track by the (still running!!!) engine...... Seat belts WOULD have prevented that! However, the HUGE shunt a Snetterton would have been MUCH worse had I not been thrown clear.

The point is that NONE of us can know the right answer if we are NOT given the figures..... and the FIA have a VERY strong reason for NOT telling us...... and that reason is WRONG!
