As with any lead acid battery the first rule is to keep it charged. We have the standard charger and battery is 2.5 years old and still going strong. I always charge as soon as we get home after a meeting and then top up every couple of weeks or so. Keeping battery warm is very good advice. Discharged battery in cold garage spells death. No need to leave on more than two or three hours if battery is good.
