Yeah its probably true, in karting, because the wheels are so small anyway there are minute differences. I think I said that in my first reply the other day. If you start looking at larger wheels then you start looking more at rotating mass and inertia etc. Thing is though with karting, you have a minimum overall weight anyway so if you're at the minimum weight, the best you can do is be able to shift the weight where you want. And of course the other thing is tyre temperature, which again is subject to so many variables that it is hard to control by simply changing wheel material (+ geometry). Chances are it will bring about different problems while solving others.
