Sorry I don't get that, if my lad is told to wear a kneck brace, he does, end of. If he asks why, I'll given him all the reasons why, but at the end of the day, I'm his parent AND guardian and waht I say goes.
In some ways, the same could be said for kids running around playing football or on bikes between heats. I take the view they are there to race, at whatever level it's not cheap just getting them there and they need to make the most of every minute of 'paddock' time.
Once the racing is done they can play, but otherwise if they have any spare energy they should be cleaning the kart, writing up set-up or if nothing else watching the other racing.
