For people with memories, you may remember the complaint procedure that was used in the Motors TV Series when it was still running. This involved no fee at all and all decisions where made by what the TV footage showed.

Anyone who did the series will remember just how many stupid complaints were submitted during the season (best one I remember was someone in one of the Junior classes blaming the person he drove straight over the top of at high speed for causing him to go off!), I think one of the rounds saw over 50 complaints being made over 6 races.

After the end of the season they said they were going to put a fee onto the complaint procedure for the 2008 season to stop the high number of petty complaints being made but as we all know, the series stopped running before the start.

The protest and appeal fee is a good thing, a fee thats any lower will just cause more hassle, provisional results and delayed throphy presentations. Some people just have to realise that sh*t happens.
