My comments are from what I know happened, yours are from an assumption!

I was very much against the cost of bodywork when it was sold to us on the grounds of safety by the MSA and the CIK and there are indeed anomolies in where bodywork has been implemented because at the time the MSA said they were starting with sc Karting and it would carry on throughout motorsport and as you point out this hasn't happened throughout Karting let alone throughout motorsport!

However I do believe side pods have been a safety feature on short circuit and we see less barrel roles and less injuries, but we certainly do see more incidents and last minute dives! Front and rear bodywork I still have to be convinced that they are actually the safety feature they were introduced as!

Lc racing does escape some of the sc rules for varying reasons and to a degree the problems and safety for both are slightly different and interlocking wheels causing barrel rolling has never really been an issue on lc as the drivers know the consequence of doing so over 100mph and the frequence of deaths on lc at around the time of introduction for sc served as stark reminder of this too!
