Rich the fact of the matter is that the ZIP nosecone DOES NOT comply with the MSA regulations and is only allowed due to commercial pressures applied by ZIP. Whether it does or not flip the karts is irrelevant as far as the rules are concerned; leaving aside that the minimum vertical surface was introduced to eliminate "shovelling"!!!
So how can MSA defend it I find it a bit of a difficult pill to swallow!
It would only cost in the region of £30-40 to get the nosecone replaced as a one off, however it will cost a minimum £150 to replace a perfectly usable and safe TypeA helmet!
It sort of smacks me that the MSA do have more of a £skewed view than a safety agenda.
