I would recommend trying to find a good 'home made' one on ebay or the market place. The Halfords ones are ok if you don't mind having your kart exposed to the elements and other road users. The 'branded' ones like Tow A Van etc are nice but expensive, even second hand.

I got a decent box trailer off ebay for about £200 then spend another £200 adding a cover and rails for the kart to sit on. So £500 for a decent box trailer already set up to take a kart and all your kit would be about right I reckon.
