There are a number of ways of making the job easier.

Get a plastic protractor and hold it so that the centre line (90)is level with one side of your laser unit and the bottom line (0-180)is parallel to the top of the unit.

Then put the centre point of the protractor on the rear dot, turn the steering and read the caster angle from the front dot directly.

As for static values (I presume you mean the difference between the kart on the stand as against the kart on the ground with a driver in it) I have a set of 'standard deviations' derived from measuring with the driver in place.

So set up the kart to the desired values on the stand and then put the kart on the ground with the driver in and measure the difference.

So, for toe, I set up the kart on the stand with 2mm in, knowing that the kart will line up with zero toe when I sit in it.

You can also set up to test dynamic loads very simply.

You need a device that stops the kart rising, with two load points, over the rear axle and front axle. Mount the wheels on four scales with a jack under each scale.

By altering the jacking loads on the various wheels (read the load straight off the scales) you can simulate dynamic loads and see what happens to toe, caster and camber.

Then offset the static values to compensate for what you expect to happen on the track.

And, unless you have lots of sensors to measure the loads while driving, test until what you do and what you expect match. For example, weight shift under braking and carried into the corner will have a big effect on the deflection of the front.
