Chris, my 06 JKH went in the exact same place i think, is it around the first floor tray mount ? mine cracked right around the whole chassis rail, and when i st in it the crack opened up a mm or two !! I had it welded, no tubing or sleeves and its fine, raced with it like that loads of times and the welds held out, a good welder will sort it for you. It'll be fine.
