what is the best type of grip via set up. surely either raising the height or moving the front or rear track prouces grip in a different way?

i was just curious as to which gives the best results and why? ie moving the wheel track causes more grip by widening the wheel base, whereas raising the ride height shifts your weight putting more load on to the wheels when cornering. i just wanted to know what was considered the best to try first in such cercumstances.
wardenlaw, i was just using as an example as it seems to have very little traction.
