My boy will never let me live down a classic piece of advice i gave him when we were just starting out.
"the faster you go, the faster you go"
I was trying to mean the faster he went the more heat he would get into his tyres and therefore the more grip he would have.

As for other peoples advice, "Practice, practice, practice" springs to mind, as does "enjoy yourself". Too many dads take it all too seriously and are too hard on their kids.
As Avago has always said to me, "if you come away at the end of the day with a smile on your face then it's all been worthwile".
