Interesting, in France all the karting businesses sell 25mm solid axles in four grades:

A - Standard (Medium)
C - Hard
B - Soft
BB - Extra soft

(Look at the prices and weep for us!)

However, because the chassis size is so inappropriate some people are spending big bucks on triple B axles which is extra extra soft. Along with up to €1000 on custom made extra long magnesium hubs that do not make contact with the axle except at the pinch bolts.

I really hope that the theory that there is no difference is true. Nobody test here but they just copy each other, so it could well be.

A second hand, Cadet size, kart I bought here turned out to have a stainless axle in it, I only noticed when I realised it wasn't going rusty and put a magnet on it. It was definately faster, but once I knew I had to remove it.
