You all have missed my point. you have compared F1 + Karts wrongly. They have DOWNFORCE. which if im correct means more "weight" pushing down on the tyres which generates MORE GRIP!!!!! Wow can you apply the same to Karting...YES
My point was it is not as clear cut as 5kgs = such and such per lap. As depending on conditions depends of if more weight is more useful, as explained in my post if you care to read and digest. 162kgs is faster than 177 yes. but in the wet 177 can be alot closer to 162! why. More grip can be generated to overcome the stopping and acceleration disadvantages.
P.S how slow are F1 cars at cornering without the aero effects! the HEAVY saftey CAR can be quicker in low grip situations
