the other question is are you a novice???? if so completely ignore everything that is said above. i tested with no lead during testing this year, then strapped 14kg onto the kart to get up to weight, and went 3 tneths faster than in testing, so you wont really notice the difference.
im mixed on opinion of the above, in theory the heavier you are the slower you will go, both corners and in a straight line in an idea world.
HOWEVER if your seat isnt in the correct place or the setup of the kart isnt correct then the extra weight can mislead you and have a beneficial affect by affecting the COG and corner weights of the kart, giving you better times than without it.
