Clay Pigeon is open just for cadets to practice most weeks, Monday to Thursday. You will find absolute beginners taking a minute and a half to get around, and good drivers lapping in 39s. Everyone understands that kids have to start somewhere, and drivers are very considerate. It's an excellent low pressure environment, and the track is pretty straightforward. The kart shop is open every day, and the proprietor (Mike) is brilliant for advice and guidance. It's also very cheap - 7 hours of track time for about 30 quid I think.
