Thanks for your comments regarding the KRDA, rest assured that all these concerns are exactly what are being considered at the present time. The value of a Drivers Association is still being assessed, once I have a feel for what is required by the karting community I can take it forward.

If I may quote the MSA on this:-

Excerpt from 2004 MSA Press Release!

The MSA is not setting aside its responsibility in terms of the regulatory, judicial and
safety aspects of the sport,” explains Colin Hilton, Chief Executive of the Motor Sports Association. “What we are doing is giving the karting community the opportunity for its voice and opinions to be heard before matters go before Council.
I am confident that the new configuration will address these issues and enable the
sport to develop and grow.”
“Karters represent 17% of MSA licence holders and 10% of MSA permitted events
relate to karting,” says Bruce Goddard, the Motor Sports Association’s Business
Development Director. “However, the karting community has sometimes felt like a poor relation of the MSA and while this has never been true, we must acknowledge that the previous structure was not ideal. We believe that the revised framework
offers karting, and all those associated with it, a say in the running of their sport.”

We are simply taking up their offer, perhaps they were hoping that no one would??

Can I also reiterate that the DIY crash testing is purely being done from a concern point of view, WHATEVER the reason for the accidents, it needs investigating, but until we find that reason, we are all in the dark, it is a process of elimination. I think you will agree that any parent would want to know why their child is being hurt and prevent it happening. I still fail to understand why the MSA aren't assuring us that they are doing their level best to find out why, rather than shrugging us off with a 'it's not the nose cones' now go away attitude.
