Do you know who bought the kart originally? Could you trace the history? I assume that Ron Shone may have sold the chassis and may have the details. Could you do the same with the engine?

Did the person you bought it off race it recently? Maybe a club that it was raced at still holds the scrutineering card? Maybe the original owner can remember the numbers?
