I use ContourHDs extensively, 4 of them, with TKM in Club100, you can find my work on their website, there is no issue with wind noise at all, in fact the Contour is the first camera I have not had a problem with. It comes with a piece of tape over the microphone hole, which I left in place, job done and yet when the drivers get out of the kart in the paddock engines off, it will still record conversation clearly. Voodoo!

As I understand it the Go Pro HD and Contour HD use the same sensor chip, but are packaged very differently and with a different lens. I know which looks less unobtrusive, but it's down to personal taste, I've found the contour easy to set up and easy to instruct drivers how to operate, one unit, one button, one slider operation... virtually driver (idiot, only joking) proof.
