Depending on your budget and parking space but I was recently looking for a karting van and was finding silly prices on Merc Sprinters then just by chance I found a Citroen Relay LWB with 100k miles on the clock on an 05 Plate for Ł3K inc vat. The kart fits between the wheel arches and there is loads of space left for roll cab tool chest, generator, compressor, tyres and all the other rubbish we tend to take.
Drive is good and returns 26 mpg fully loaded with my 17ft caravan on the back.
Not sure about the every day aspect but it drives nicely and has all the toys like central locking electric windows, dual view electric mirrors and CD Radio.
