buzzinrussell - your comments are much appreciated - good to be appreciated.
Michealg36 - I fully understand your thoughts on keeping within a budget and not following the trend of having the "latest"
What raceinstructor says about lenses etc is so important - ie higher quality lenses have to be an aim.
As for equipment - yes Canon & Nikon are the big players - I personally have had Minolta for 25 years so it was a no brainer to go with Sony - and the big plus if on a budget but want top equipment - scour around for the Minolta G lenses and on new Sony body the antishake is in the body - Nikon/Canon is in the lens.
