I have been engaged to produce the Super 1 TV coverage on behalf of the organisers for Motors TV in 2010. I set out below some information about what you can expect in terms of the programme content, and what you can expect from me personally in terms of additional support. If anyone would like to discuss anything with me, my details are below.

Drivers can shortly download a driver profile form from the s1 website and forward it on to me. The more information I have helps to make the commentary relevant, and the more I know about you the more I can say about you. I will contact anyone with an unusual name to check pronunciations, and may contact you from time to time to update my knowledge or discuss something specific. Your mobile phone and home/work telephone details are therefore very important.

On the Friday and Saturday practice days at Rd 1, we will be taking head and shoulder photographs of EVERY driver. These will be used for the graphics developed for the grid positions, driver profiles, results etc. If you already have a high resolution image you would like us to use, in a race suit, particularly podium shots that we can mask a good head and shoulders image from, then please send it to me as soon as possible by email to ataddei@me.com.

If you have a sponsor, you may include ONE (only) main sponsor logo in your grid position graphic. Please send the logo image to me at the email address above, either as a .jpg or .png, .tif image, preferably with an alpha channel (transparent) background.

As part of my commitment to each S1 driver in the series, I am prepared to attend any meeting with a potential sponsor on behalf of the TV production team, to help you achieve a level of sponsorship support for the championship. My time is free of charge, you pay for travel and incidental expenses only where necessary, and it must be at a convenient time. Any meeting held at the JKH HQ in Cheshire (an excellent facility for such a meeting) I will attend at no additional cost. (It does not matter which chassis you drive, you can still use the meeting facilities at JKH). I can be contacted at any time from 9am – midnight each day if you wish to discuss something pertaining to the TV production, but try not to call me in the week following an event as I will be busy editing to a deadline, and do not have a lot of time during those weeks.

We will be filming using Sony XDCAM HD cameras for this event (although the final output will be SD on Motors TV). I will advise shortly the settings to use on your GoPro onboard cameras (1920x1080 or 1280x720), so that we can drop the recorded footage from your cameras into our editing system to use in the multicam edit. After each event, if you have some great onboard action and want to pass your card on to us, please make sure you write your driver’s name, class and race number on the card before handing it in. We will return it to you at the next event, or by post if you prefer. With everyone having cameras, please note that we will only be able to include a max of 2 or 3 onboard clips in each race edit. As far as possible, I will vary which drivers’ cameras we use, and concentrate on those that have incidents or exceptional quality images. I will have some envelopes for you to drop your card(s) or a memory stick with the file into, on to which you should write your information, and information about incidents captured.

Please note that due to time restrictions we will be filming for broadcast the Grand Final from each event (Final 2 only), and concentrating on the action from that race. Each programme will be one hour in duration, consisting of 4 x 12 minute parts, with 4 x 3 minute ad breaks. With a grid position rundown at maybe one minute, a pre race feature or interview, post race interviews and results/champ pts graphics, we feature the main event race in order to do the race justice, and allow us to feature drivers not only at the front of the field, but also the midfield interest.

You can expect the following graphics in each race: A full rundown of grid positions, featuring photo images of EVERY driver in Final 2. Race results featuring the top 10 finishers in each race, and a Championship Pts graphic featuring the top 6 in the championship. (not sure how I will handle the dropped score yet….). We will also feature driver profile graphics, a fastest lap graphic for every race inc. a photo image of the driver with the fastest lap, and a variety of other 3d graphics to complement the edit.

Following the first transmission, each driver will receive an SD DVD of the programme FREE of charge (blue-ray HD version may be available at some point), and we will be able to supply a video of each race for download to your iphone or as a quicktime video file for use on your website or playing on your computer. This is an added value service for all Super 1 drivers.

I think that’s all for now……. I look forward to meeting up with everyone at the first round. I can be contacted on 0871-220-5365, or 07595-371683, or post questions here and I will respond.
