Well, Hoeckle stopped producing the engine towards the end of 2006. But that doesn’t mean that there aren’t plenty around and running well. I wouldn’t call an engine a doorstop just because it isn’t being raced; it’s clearly the owners’ choice. If I were still an owner I would be among those helping to promote/organise races. But that’s up to owners if they wish to organise themselves, or not.
And that’s my point here: where owners of a particular kart engine want to get together and race, and where a venue is happy to have them (and their money), why should anyone be able or want to tell them they cannot?
