Anyway, The led can go faulty and flash red when charged.
You will have to test the transponder that isn't flashing by asking the timekeeper if you can just pass it over the loop acouple of times to see if his box beeps.
I've never dug the led out but if the transponder is working then you will have to carefully expose the leads of the led and connect the new one to the old leads as the pcb would get damaged if you try and get it out.
The led will have a small flat on its base to indicate its polarity, so note which way round it goes.
Probably something like this would be ok.
