Is it wrong to copy a helmet design?

I saw a helmet design on one of the painters websites in the showing past projects pictures. Never seen one like it on circuits, no idea who it was made for and if they are a karter or race sportscars or some other class, whether they are British or whether they even race anymore. Would it be wrong to have a helmet painted the same way? What would you think if you saw someone with the same unusual paintjob as your helmet one day?
