after running Hondas last year, cleaning with heat guns was allowed at most circuits as long as it was done as soon as you left parc ferme. Most of the time we didnt need to bother. The question was asked at clay two weeks ago and the answer was a NO.
Far better is the use of a surform blade which is legal as it is a mechanical process and is actually better for the tyres. The fronts were spun up using a modified tool, and you can clean up wets this way as well.
