I found the MyChron 3 was better set with 0 splits and the obscuring time to suit.

The MyChron 4 was better set with x splits (to suit) and the obscuring time set to 0.

If you will be downloading data to a laptop/PC, both were fine with the splits setup, but the MyChron 3 was a pain having to cycle through all the splits to see the laps.
