Some sets seem to wildly different to others

During practice for S1 at Rowrah we ran a set that came from the same batch as the race control tyres - kart went fine - stuck the random draw race tyres on and couldn't get within 5 tenths of practice pace for the remainder of the meeting - wrecked the weekend

I'd almost be tempted to suggest that drivers be allowed to purchase 2 sets of control tyres, be allowed to test both and then place whichever set they preferred in parc ferme for the remainder of the meeting, so if you get a crummy set you can do away with them - I know it would drive costs up even more but it's better than going hundreds of miles and doing a day and a half of testing for no purpose
