Matt

We now use tyre tongs - so much more easy!!
But, last night, I had packed the trailer and sent it off with the team and realised I needed to take a couple of tyres off so reverted to my old type - like the one you have.
It is possible to remove tyres by hand, and I can do it, but its much easier with the right tools for the job.
Once you have the bead off the rim (on both sides) insert the tip of the lever under the bead and lever it up (ensuring the other side is off the bead and in the 'well' of the wheel).
The trick now is to get the disc into the wheel rim - you'll see its a perfect fit - and you will find it is reluctant. To do this, place the wheel/tyre on the ground and push the end of the lever down until the disc pops into the wheel. The just hold the tyre and rotate the lever around the wheel/tyre and it will come off. To get the other side off, compress one side of the tyre and turn the wheel 90 degrees in the tyre so that it almost comes out sideways. With a little bit of practice using this tool, you'll have the job done in a few seconds.
Hope this helps and doesn't sound too confusing...
Geoff
