I notice from your profile you compete in a rotax class.

you will have a problem getting pased rule B6.12.1 data logging in the gold book which only allows for proper sanctioned cameras so unless your club SR's state that cameras MUST or MAY be fitted you would not be allowed to compete with one fitted. S1's SR's state that a specific camera MUST be fitted in a specific location using a specific mounting method.

so scruts that refused you are in the right, and you would open yourself up to a tech exclusion if you ran one during a race or oficial practice.
