Yes i was thinking if you run an line across the rear wheel so it touches both edges of the wheel and use this line and run it to the front of the kart you will be able to measure of this line to the edges of the front wheel.

I have a wheel alignment machine at work that uses this method on road cars.

I would have thought if you didnt do it this way you could have the measurement from tracking discs perfect and it still not be straight on the steering wheel.

Maybe im worrying about this too much but i know how important it is when car racing.
