How does it simulate the most used effect of the 'best' drivers or 'semi-lock' braking. I kjnow oif no 'accepted' description of that technique where the wheels continue to rotate but are NOT rotating at the standard 'rolling-speed' by a factor of about 1/10th of that speed.... eg, the kart is moving forward at 30mph but the wheels are rotating at the rate of a kart doing 3 mph. It's nearest 'cousin' in the car-world would be Anti-Lock-Brakes... BUT... they are extremely CRUDE in that they actually 'lock' and release the wheels intermitently whereas 'we' do NOT as we allow them to continue to rotate but at a 'slower' rate.

I have not seen that technique simulated and I can't see how the drver can be 'informed' that such a braking point has been 'achieved' as the only way that I 'know' it's happening is a feeling through the seat of my pants!

My experience of programming and simulation informs me that the actions of the 'vehicle' represent those of the programmer who, in all likeliness... has never EXPRIENCED the feel of 'semi-lock'.

Please remember that I have 'used' full scale simulators (including military spec. ones) and although they (I am assured) are pretty damned close to the 'real thing', they still are NOWHERE NEAR realistic at the limits. They are fine to cover the general principles BUT... in racing, every moderately quick driver is pretty good at the general PRINCIPLES but the difference is what they do at the MARGIN....

Put simply, show me a karting simulator which even NOTICES whether I am sitting in the seat or laying on my back with my head below the steering wheel...... with children operating the pedals. I'd like to see the 'physics engine' 'model' THAT configuration!

There's no substitute for the real thing! If there really was.... then McLaren's spectacularly good simulator would have noticed that the blown-diffuser was NOT going to work when they got to Silverstone.....
