Harv-in-surrey's reply was exactly the one that I was expecting and it is this sort of attitude that will ensure the sport carries remains very much an ever shrinking minority sport.

Your F1 comparisons couldn't be more pointless. It's only karting - it's meant to be fun.

I'm sure you're very happy re-building braking systems after every outing, but most have better things to do. I'd rather manufacturers in question improved the designs (some are clearly okay) and made the parts a little less maintenance intensive. As Dazz indicated, this could be mandated by the CIK.

I can't see any reason why this would not be possible with no loss in performance.
