Ian does give a lot of helpful advice on this forum and I thought his post was useful.
Overall our sport seems very safe unless the serious injuries are not being reported in the magazine or on here and maybe that suggests that the neck braces are more of a marketing ploy that a useful safety item.
However, if they give some comfort to parents then maybe that is worthwhile. probably if any of our kids suffered a neck injury then we would always wonder `what if....' but there have also been a couple of posts on here suggesting that they have been the cause of a broken collar bone but with the added comment - might have been worse without it.
