I don't know who is correct about the facts, but.....

Ok.... expert-cheats may well know/think sniffers don't work...... but the 'less expert' may not know this. It may mean that the truly professional-cheats MAY be able to get away with it but, isn't the potential 'deterent' effect of a (supposedly) useless sniffer on those who are NOT 'experts' better than NO deterent.

It's a bit like Gatso boxes where the camera is not active; the punters STILL slow down past such boxes ONLY because they are a deterent?
