Clarky, long circuit race entries are more expensive buyt you get to race on circuits like donnington, cadwell park, Silverstone, oulton park, thruxton, snetterton to name just a few, and therefore it warrants the extra cost in my eyes. Also the testing on the Friday at donnington was £70 for 6 25min sessions, which works out cheaper than any short circuit racing.

You also have your facts wrong about engine life at long circuit. Apart from fuel tank problems this year I haven’t had any engine breakdowns. Similarly look at most of the top runners and they also have not had many engine failures during the year, especially Jason dredge, who won the championship.

If you tell me that you cant get the feel of hard braking when going over 120mph at Pembrey and braking for a 30mph tight hairpin then there is something wrong with your driving. The acceleration will never be as great on long circuit due to having a longer gearing to do around 120mph at most circuits, but the acceleration still pushes me up the seat so isn’t exactly slow.

To ste, if you have only tried Darley moor in the wet then you cannot really comment on corner speeds as going through Craner curves at over 120mph flat out is a manly corner, also the mountain at Cadwell park if out have the balls is flat out and Pembrey has a left hander taken at around 100mph whilst accelerating, so until you have tried some of these corners among others you cannot really comment.

I still say that if you want to test a 250 to its full capabilities you have to race long circuit that not only has fantastic number racing but also has the sort of atmosphere that you want.
