A nice clean kart tells the scruts that you have been over the kart and there is a good chance you might have seen and rectified any problems.

Makee sure ther is nothing that can catch the drivers throttle foot like a trailing cable end.

make sure all your seat washewrs are of the correct size, including seat stays if you have them.

Make sure the brake pads have enough material left.

Cable ties on the front pod clips.

Some additional tethering on the rear bumper.

No long bolts on the underneath of the floor tray or anywhere else.

A bit of padding anywhere he can catch his elbows on.

A fuel cap that doesn't leak on the family jewels.

In general, as safe a kart as you can give your lad.
